    Our Mission

What if we stopped asking"Whathaveyoudone?"and started asking"Whatcouldyoubecome?"

That question sits at the heart of everything we are building. Young people have incredible strengths; creativity, resilience, problem-solving and kindness, but traditional systems are designed to filter them out, not find them. Meanwhile, local businesses are searching for potential in their own communities and cannot find it. inyourroots® exists to change that conversation.

    What we're building (and why)

We're growing localcareers that are rooted

A strengths-first route into real work - helping young people build confidence and direction, and helping SMEs spot potential early, close to home.

    Strengths-led from the start

Young people begin with Sprout and a Discovery Journey that turns strengths into a live profile, so “what I’m like” becomes clearer than “what I’ve done” on paper.

    Rooted in real places

We build region by region (Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk first), so opportunities are genuinely reachable and pathways feel practical, not theoretical.

    Connected, not a postcode lottery

We connect young people, local employers and educators so support shows up around them, not just listings, but a clearer route with people in the loop.

    Future-ready foundations

We focus on strengths and transferable capabilities that don’t expire, so a first step becomes a foundation even as roles, industries and technology keep changing.

    Human, transparent trust

We explain what’s driving recommendations, verify employers, and add safeguards as we grow, because when you’re shaping someone’s start, trust has to be designed in.

    Designed for different brains

Clear language, calmer pacing, and comfort settings — so neurodivergent young people can explore without masking or overwhelm.

A reality check on the last decadeand the reason inyourroots® exists.

    2012

We learned early: CVs don’t show the real stuff

    What we saw

    • We started in recruitment in 2012, as early social media roles appeared and digital became part of every industry.
    • Across recruitment, agency life, and career events, we kept seeing potential in strengths, attitude, and how someone learns - not in a perfect history.

    What it led to

    • A strengths-first lens to spot what is real early, and help young people feel confident naming it.

Note: ONS Labour Force Survey (LFS) estimates have published quality considerations from mid-2023 due to lower response rates. We use the official ONS MGWY series for consistency.

    Our Values

Everything we build is designed to be practical, inclusive, and rooted in real local outcomes.

    1. Empowerment & Confidence

    2. Radical Inclusivity & Realness

    3. Rooted in Community & Connection

    4. Trust & Impact

    Potential over polish.

    Empowerment & Confidence

We help young people name what they are good at - without needing a perfect CV.

We turn strengths into clear next steps, so confidence grows through action.

    We celebrate progress, not perfection.

    Roadmap

    What's Next

We are launching across Essex, Hertfordshire, and Suffolk in early 2026. The focus is depth over speed: build trust locally first, then scale from evidence.

    Start here

    Phase 01

    Launch Local

    01

Across Essex, Hertfordshire, and Suffolk with depth over speed and real relationship-building on the ground.

    Build pathways

    Phase 02

    Expand Pathways

    02

Work experience, mentorship, and entrepreneurial support for young people building confidence in different ways.

    Scale carefully

    Phase 03

    Grow With Proof

    03

Scale after evidence, not hype. Prove hyper-local matching works first, then grow from a strong base.

    Year 11

Can I find something local that still feels like me?

    Local SME

We need motivated people, not perfect CVs.

    Parent

I want clear options, not pressure.

    Teacher

Careers support must feel inclusive for everyone.

    16-25

I know my strengths. I need someone to see them too.

    Employer

Fit and attitude matter more than polished interviews.

    Apprentice

I wish this existed when I was choosing routes.

    Community Org

This could keep more talent rooted locally.
